Well, I got it going, RepRap is not that bad, just different. The firmware is modified by a config.g file with customizing Gcode commands. Really just a matter of reading carefully.
HOWEVER....I am having yaxis issues. My X and Z motors are all at 800ma and seem to be fine. I have my Y's connected like an FT5, and had them at 1600ma, issues with the belt jumping, I'm assuming too much torque...so lowered it to 800, too little.
I connected the motors by soldering them, however there are different lengths from motor to the join, by a good 300mm at a guess (the left motor is about 600mm to the join, and the right is about 300mm). Am I right that the resistance of the wires is caused a current imbalance by the time the voltage gets to the motors?
